Dr Ammar Kheir is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic Colonoscopist.
He has particular interest in high-quality colonoscopy, bowel cancer screening in adults and inflammatory bowel disease, management of colonic polyps, Barrett’s oesophagus and screening for early gastric cancer.
His research focuses on image-enhanced endoscopy, quality in colonoscopy and techniques of advanced endoscopic resection. He presented at international meetings, published in peer reviewed journals and authored endoscopy textbook chapters.
Dr Kheir graduated from the University of Medical Sciences & Technology in Sudan. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Australia. He has undergone advanced endoscopic training in Australia and Japan.
Dr Kheir also works at QEII public hospital. He joined Montserrat in 2017, offering consultations and procedures from our Westside Private location.
