Dr Peter Ko is a specialist gastroenterologist with an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. He works as a senior staff specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Peter graduated from medical school in 2007 and completed his specialty training in South Korea. During this time, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in internal medicine.

Peter has been working as a consultant gastroenterologist since 2013 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2019. He has strong interest and extensive experience in treating large and complicated polyps and has a demonstrated track record of excellent outcomes.

Peter’s special interests include:
• High quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy/colonoscopy)
• Complex endoscopic resections (ESD, EMR)

Peter moved from South Korea to New Zealand in 2018, before settling in Brisbane in 2021. He is looking forward to developing relationships with patients at Westside Private Hospital.

Dr Ming Ho completed general surgical training in Newcastle and obtained the fellowship of the College of Surgeons in Australia (FRACS). He was in the UK to further his training in coloproctology in 2017 and obtained his membership of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) and the fellowship of the College of Surgeons (FRCSEd).

Dr Ho is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the Joint Advisory Group on gastrointestinal endoscopy of the UK (JAG) to perform colonoscopy and gastroscopy.

He also provides THD® Anopress, a newer technology to manage anorectal problems, e.g. rectocele, faecal incontinent, chronic constipation, anismus, obstructed defecation, rectal prolapse, obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS). This service is currently bulk billed via Medicare.

Dr Linus Chang has been a consultant gastroenterologist since 2010. He has special interests in high quality surveillance colonoscopy, monitoring of gastric intestinal metaplasia to detect early stomach cancer and Hepatitis B. He has special expertise in endoscopic ultrasound which is used to clarify intestinal subepithelial lesions, and pancreaticobiliary disease.

He undertook his gastroenterology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Townsville. He had further subspecialty training in endoscopic ultrasound and its role in the diagnosis and staging of upper gastrointestinal cancer at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth in 2009 with further periods of observation and hands-on training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, USA and St Luc Hospital in Montreal, Canada.

Dr Chang was formerly staff specialist at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and lecturer with the University of Queensland. He was colonoscopy trainer for ten years to gastroenterology trainees at the Mater Hospital Brisbane. He is now solely in private practice and performs procedures at Mater Private South Brisbane, Mater Private Springfield, Westside Private in Taringa and Sunnybank Private Hospital.

Dr Xuan Banh is an Australian trained gastroenterologist who graduated from the University of Queensland and subsequently underwent physician training at multiple hospitals, including the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Logan Hospital and QEII Jubilee Hospital. She also undertook post-fellowship training in Luminal Interventional Endoscopy at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Dr Xuan Banh has a special interest in:

  • Surveillance colonoscopy
  • Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of large polyps
  • Balloon enteroscopy
  • Capsule endoscopy
  • Endoscopic dilatation

She is a fellow in the Royal Australian College of Physicians and is a member of the Gastroenterology Society of Queensland.

Dr Su-Lin Chan is a Specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She has also completed a Fellowship in Mohs surgery at Oxford Day Surgery. She completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Western Australia in 2010. After her internship and residency at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital she completed her specialist training through the Australasian College of Dermatologist national dermatology training program working at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital. She was also awarded an overseas training fellowship at the University College London Hospital.

Dr Chan has been published in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and has presented at both National and International Dermatology Meetings. She is involved in the teaching and education of registrars, and General Practitioners through Dermatology Australasia. She has an interest in all aspects of general adult and paediatric dermatology, with a subspecialty interest in the medical and surgical management of skin cancers.
