Dr Slaughter graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1997 and undertook her residency training throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Dr Slaughter worked as a visiting Medical Officer at the Princess Alexandra Hospital 2009-2017 and was awarded RANZCO Trainer of Excellence award in 2010. She was also Director of Training for RANZCO Queensland 2010-2016.
