Before the Procedure Date:

• Check time, date and place of procedure
• Ensure you have allocated the entire day for your procedure
• Arrange transport home – you will not be able to drive and you will need someone to stay with you for 12 hours afterwards
• Prepare as per the nurses instructions
• Ensure that you have read and followed all instructions relevant to your procedure

Day of Your Procedure

• Bring regular medications that you would normally be due to take
• Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
• Leave jewellery and valuables at home
• Do not wear contact lenses
• Bring anything required to pay your account (if not already done)
• Supply the name and contact number of your pick-up person

After Your Procedure

• Do not drive for the specified time afterwards
• Ensure a responsible adult is able to remain with you for 12 hours
• Read discharge instructions given to you at the time of discharge
• Contact your surgeon for any further information you require
